Nice little getaway for a change of scenery. Everything seemed fairly well maintained, and staff was responsive to our questions via text. It's not "fancy" but it's very charming and well worth the price. The honor bar had a good selection. You do still hear some distant road noise, but I'm general, a quiet and relaxing place.

This was my fourth time staying at the Bygone. We stayed 2 nights for my daughter’s 19th birthday. Each time has been amazing. The staff really really do go above and beyond in every way. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is perfect for just relaxing or being active. I’ve taken teens twice and my whole family once. Perfect place to stay if you have a college student at Texas State! My husband and son even used the hills to do some training for the MS150. This spring I went all by myself for a break from reality. You really just cannot go wrong choosing to stay at the Bygone.

I stayed here a couple of years ago and, unfortunately, had a poor experience. I heard they had a change of management, so I decided to give them another try, and I’m so glad I did. The difference was night and day. Friendly and attentive service, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel truly taken care of. The rooms were exceptionally clean, quiet, and with a tasteful vibe. I could live in the shower. And the view, ah the view. Amazing. I need to come back in the Fall or Winter when it's better balcony weather. They've continued to improve the grounds, with cabanas at the pool, a new lawn with games and seating, and an inviting fire pit area. I didn't take advantage of the planned guest activities, but they looked fun! If you're in the Wimberley area for a stay, I don't see why you'd book anywhere else.

I can’t say enough incredible things about this beautiful hill country hotel! It’s so quaint, beautifully decorated, and the view is out of this world. Terry took our stay to the next level. She was more than accommodating and made sure we felt so welcome. This is the perfect place for a couples weekend or a getaway with the whole family!

We had a company weekend retreat at the Bygone which was a first for most of us. Not only is this a beautiful and intimate property but the service provided by the hotel staff was above and beyond. The girls who served us were so accommodating and polite and the gentleman that cooked for us and made sure we had everything we needed went above and beyond. I’d like to give a personal shoutout to Maria. She worked tirelessly during our weekend stay being available early mornings and late at night to assist us and was so pleasant throughout our entire stay. I will be coming back in the future for a personal stay! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

The Bygone Hotel was an incredible experience! The views alone are worth the stay. Peaceful, romantic, and grounding in the best way. It felt like a true reset the moment we arrived. What stood out most was the staff. Friendly, proactive, and incredibly easy to work with. Communication through WhatsApp was seamless, and check-in and check-out were smooth with zero friction. They were also very flexible with checkout, which made the whole experience feel relaxed instead of rushed. The property itself is beautifully designed. Extremely aesthetic, professional, and intentional. You can tell every detail was thought through. The Asana space was a really cool touch, and they also have a cold plunge area if that’s your thing. We didn’t use it, but it’s nice to have the option. Three small notes for full transparency. The fire pit didn’t quite work for us, and while the pool is heated, it wasn’t quite warm enough for us to jump in. Not deal breakers, just worth noting. You could also hear some of the cars driving on the road behind the hotel. Again, not a dealbreaker, but just something to be aware of. Overall, this is a fantastic place to reconnect with nature and with the person you’re there with. If you’re looking for a romantic, peaceful getaway in Texas with incredible views and a polished experience, I highly recommend The Bygone Hotel!

Amazing hotel with great amenities and gorgeous valley view. I could behold the Texas Hill Country from my balcony, the reading room (phenomenal), and the swimming pool. Perfect for quick getaways for locals or extended stays for out-of-towers. Maria, our concierge was so helpful and communicative. I can’t say enough great things about our stay at The Bygone. The room was nice, clean, and the bed was comfy. The location is near shopping/dinning and natural spring swimming spots like The Blue Hole, Cypress Falls, & Jacob’s Well. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

A quick hill country getaway for us coming from Austin. The amenities are accommodating, from the thoughtful layout, convenient walking trails, on site pool, cold plunge, excellent sauna, and the adorable reading room, you cannot go wrong. Also really appreciated the continental breakfast included from Blanco Brew.
